Post-explosion.
Name: Kazuo Kiriyama
Gender: Male
Orientation: Demisexual
Age: 28 - appears late teens, died at 16
Species: Ghost
Appearance: Standing at 5'7" with a lean, somewhat lanky build, his lax movements make for an elegant yet simultaneously choppy pattern something between a zombie and a doll - with startling agility in a fight. His normal walking, however, is usually an arrogant, laid back strut akin to a punk who doesn't give a damn. Of Japanese ethnicity, his skin is pale olive, with completely untapped potential for a nice tan. His eyes are a dark brown. His hair is poorly bleached to a much lighter, honey brown than his natural color, reddish in some lights, and straight, though in a constant, teased mess he styles with toothpaste and/or maple syrup.
Kazuo wears a black Gakuran school uniform with the jacket unbuttoned to reveal the white dress shirt underneath, and dull blue slip-on Vans sneakers.
Personality: For appearing so young, this boy is a ruthless monster. He is capable of killing without a second thought and with zero remorse. Animals, people... age, gender, race, makes little to no difference to him. He has a kind of addiction to killing, even going so far as to kill whatever animals he can manage to get his hands on - slowly, if he's in the mood. He is observant, but easily distracted, and with only selective listening skills. Blood, conflict, and violence is what most consistently holds his attention, enough, in fact, that he frequently appears to be caught in a trance upon sighting it.
Kazuo is selectively mute, meaning that although he is physically capable of speech, it's incredibly rare for it to occur. Nonetheless, he is very expressive when he wants to be, and makes use of a... colorful (and unconventional) vocabulary to communicate. Though not remarkably intelligent, Kazuo is very logical and adaptable. He is a quick problem-solver. At first glance he appears reckless, but in truth he is very analytical of his environment and situations; just because he carries a devil-may-care attitude doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's getting himself into.
He shows a certain discomfort in crowds, busy and well-lit public places, or large groups of unfamiliar people due to mild social anxiety. Though he exhibits great enjoyment in destruction and chaos and was once a bit of a pyro, since death he has a developed an absolute phobia of fire (and explosions) and tends to panic when faced with any amount of it.
Companion(s): None
Weapon(s): An Uzi 9mm submachine gun and Colt Python .357 revolver, though both firearms are only good for the noise they make when Kazuo can manage to get that across to the living plane. Also carries a six inch dagger, which at times can prove more conventionally useful.
Power(s): Filled to the brim with intensity and often negative emotions, Kazuo is a ghost unusually capable of getting his message across to the living plane - that message almost always being a violent one. Channeling his emotions whether voluntarily or otherwise frequently allows him to interact with physical objects, such as throwing them, kicking them, striking them, or otherwise breaking them. It is more difficult for this to encompass people, but occasionally he still manages.
When angered or upset enough, he's sometimes even capable of destruction without direct interaction - causing lights to flicker or explode, glass to crack or shatter, and other objects to spontaneously burst apart or at the least tremble.
An ability he is less conscious of, when highly panicked, furious, or disoriented, Kazuo's appearance tends to flicker like a glitchy image to that of his death. His dark eyes turn milky white with trails of blood running down his cheeks from them, his clothes turn ragged and burnt and ripped, and his throat appears blown open with blood spattered violently up his chin and down his chest. He is unaware of this happening.
As a ghost, it's rather a given that he is not normally seen by the living except occasionally out of the corner of their vision. He phases through solid things instead of touching them except for the above mentioned instances. However, unlike some ghosts, Kazuo is a dark enough entity to carry about a negative aura through his vicinity even when not in a particularly bad or strong mood. This tends to create subtle feelings of anxiety, fear, and/or hostility in his presence.

Enemy(ies): None in particular
Biography: Kazuo's life before his participation in what is known as the Battle Royale Survival Program - or just the Program - seems either uneventful or otherwise insignificant to him, as most but for a few certain memories of it are hazy in his mind. More at the forefront of his memory is what ended his life. In a dystopian Japan, the government runs an annual survival game where students are confined to a space by remote-control-detonation collars, receive a backpack with a randomized weapon, and are told to kill each other until only one is left; the sole survivor is declared the winner and can go home.
Kazuo volunteered for the Program purely for fun.
He was thrown into that year's selected class of 40 students as a "transfer", where the Program was held on an island. He had the highest kill count of the class, at 12 students. Amongst these deaths included his first five of the game, a gang who had him surrounded and vastly outgunned, his given "weapon" being a harisen - a paper fan. By distracting his most immediate Uzi-armed captor via spitting gum into the other boy's face, Kazuo took the Uzi and immediately mowed down all five classmates, then taking their weapons for himself. Two girls who used a megaphone to try to call for peace Kazuo riddled full of bullets, then held the megaphone to the one still alive so the whole island could hear her pained moans and screams when he finished her off.
The end of the Program and his life came when the game was down to four students, and Kazuo was struck by a close-range explosion. Horribly dazed and blinded, Kazuo's massacre was finally put to an end when the other "transfer" of the game, a survivor of a previous Program, shot him in the leg and then in the detonatable collar, which exploded and killed the 15-year-old instantly.
Since death, it's understandable that Kazuo developed a distinct aversion to fire and explosions. As a ghost, he spends most of his afterlife haunting the island where he died - but is known to appear elsewhere in locations of great violence or death, both before and after such occurrences.
